Tasmania Parks & Wildlife Service National Parks Pass

National Parks Pass

To assist with the maintenance and preservation of Tasmania’s National Parks, there is a small fee for entering these locations. As Tasmania has many National Parks and many are located in popular areas including Freycinet and Cradle Mountain, we recommend the purchase of a holiday pass which allows entry into all 17 National Parks. This is perfect for a touring holiday of Tasmania as it is valid for up to 8 weeks and includes up to 8 people per vehicle.

Tamar Triple Pass

The Western bank of the Tamar River rewards visitors with a stunning riverside scenic drive, and a string of laid-back towns. Two of these towns are Beaconsfield and Beauty Point, which house three of the West Tamar’s major attractions: Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre, Seahorse World and Platypus House.

A Tamar Triple Pass enables the holder entry to all three of these attractions. At Beaconsfield Mine, visitors take a self-guided tour around the facility (bookings not required), while at Platypus House and Seahorse World, your pass gives you a place on a guided tour. Bookings are recommended but not essential on guided tours.

Make a full day of it on the West Tamar and visit all three, or use your voucher over consecutive days to suit your itinerary. Beaconsfield is located 40 minutes north of Launceston, the nearest gateway, with Seahorse World and Platypus House, just 5 minutes’ drive further north.
