Two of these towns are Beaconsfield and Beauty Point, which house three of the West Tamar’s major attractions: Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre, Seahorse World and Platypus House.

Beaconsfield Mine & Heritage Centre:

Lose yourself in history. Climb the headframe and enter the miners cage, explore an underground mine from within the museum.

Seahorse World:
Inspection Head Wharf, Beauty Point
Get unique access on an educational tour behind the scenes of a working seahorse farm. The 45-minute tour ends with the once in a lifetime opportunity to hold a beautiful seahorse in the palm of your hand!

Platypus House:
Inspection Head Wharf, Beauty Point
Tasmanian platypuses and echidnas are unique and cannot be seen anywhere else in the world. You are guaranteed to see both these spectacular egg-laying mammals actively feeding and playing a during a 35 minute tour and 15 minute film.
