Our adventure begins with a drive from Hobart to Queenstown, where we'll spend the night before embarking on the Rack and Gorge West Coast Wilderness Railway Tour. The historic steam train, with its beautifully restored carriages, takes us on a journey through rugged terrain, offering magnificent views of the surrounding wilderness. The Wilderness Carriage provides a unique and immersive experience, allowing us to soak in the untamed beauty of Tasmania's west coast.

After a day filled with breathtaking sights, we'll make our way to Strahan, a charming coastal town nestled on the edge of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Our overnight stay at Risby Cove provides a tranquil retreat, allowing us to recharge for the adventures to come. Dinner at Hamers Hotel, known for its delicious cuisine and warm hospitality, promises to be a delightful experience.

The next day, we'll embark on the Gordon River Cruise onboard the "Spirit of the Wild." This premier cruise takes us deep into the heart of the wilderness, navigating the pristine waters of the Gordon River. The upper deck offers panoramic views, allowing us to witness the untouched beauty of the surrounding rainforests and ancient landscapes. A visit to Sarah Island, once a harsh penal settlement, offers aglimpse into Tasmania's intriguing history.

Leaving Strahan behind, we'll drive via Zeehan to the enchanting township of Corinna, located in the Tarkine region. Our overnight stay in Corinna immerses us in the peaceful ambiance of this remote wilderness destination. The next day, we'll embark on the Pieman River Cruise, a journey that takes us deeper into the untamed wilderness and all the way to Pieman Heads. This cruise is a nature lover's paradise, offering glimpses of rare flora and fauna that call this region home.

After bidding farewell to Corinna, our journey continues to Cradle Mountain via Waratah. The picturesque town of Waratah invites us to explore its scenic beauty, with its stunning waterfall and lush surroundings. Our stay at Cradle Mountain Hotel provides the perfect base for exploring the renowned Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. Short nature walks, including the iconic Dove Lake circuit walk, offer breathtaking views of the rugged mountain peaks and pristine alpine landscapes.

The historic Ship Inn becomes our home for the night, where we indulge in the finest local seafood and Cape Grim beef at the Hotel Stanley. As we savor the flavors of Tasmania, we can't help but appreciate the region's bountiful produce and culinary delights.

Our final stop on this journey is Launceston, where we'll enjoy an overnight stay at the renowned Peppers Silo Hotel. Dinner at Grain of the Silos, a restaurant that celebrates Tasmania's finest produce, promises a delightful culinary experience. As we reflect on our incredible journey through the wilderness, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to explore Tasmania's natural wonders.
