The Tarkine is a vast expanse of wilderness – rich in both natural and cultural heritage. It contains Australia’s largest tract of cool temperate rainforest, and boasts one of the most spectacular stretches of coastline anywhere in the world. It is also home to over 60 rare or endangered species – including the Giant Freshwater Lobster and the iconic Tasmanian Devil.
This five-day tour provides a wonderful exploration of the region, taking in a variety of inspiring landscapes. Enjoy sweeping mountain views, the ambience of ancient Gondwanan rainforests, and visit a number of picturesque waterfalls – all while carrying your day pack only. Cruise to the mouth of the mighty Pieman River, and the take a stroll along the wild Tarkine Coast.
