Bruny Island Traveller

On a beautiful Tassie winter’s day we were lucky enough to be able to be heading to Bruny Island for an ultimate foodies day out with Bruny Island Traveller.

We met our tour guide, Fran and headed 45 minutes south of Hobart to Kettering, where we then had a short 15 minute ferry ride to Bruny Island.

Our seven course gourmet tour started with tastings at Bruny Island Cheese Co, Get Shucked Oysters and Bruny Island Honey. Next stop was the Bruny Island Lookout which was a great way to stretch our legs with 279 steps and a beautiful look out over the Bruny Island Neck from the top. We then went on the hunt to see one of Bruny Island’s unique white wallabies which we were fortunate enough to see. Afterwards we enjoyed a yummy warm blueberry muffin and hot drink at Rob Pennicott’s new restaurant.

After morning tea we enjoyed a nice relaxing drive to the other end of the Island where we enjoyed a wine tasting and lunch at Bruny Island Premium Wines. A perfect way to finish our day of beautiful produce and stunning scenery was a tasting at Bruny Island Whisky House.

We had an amazing day on the Bruny Island Traveller thanks to our wonderful guide Fran. Even though it was a cool winters day this was the perfect tour to get out and enjoy Bruny Island.
